TOP-WEIGHT Inappropriate, trained by Ewan Whillans, heads a strong Scottish challenge for the £20,000 Portobello Cup at Musselburgh.

A handicap staged over 2m 2f, the contest also sees Jim Goldie four-handed with Trojan Son, Gallus Norman, Furhaan and Cascade Hall while also flying the flag for the home team are Florida Dreams (Sandy Thomson), Ned Broy (Iain Jardine) and Is She Now (Daragh Bourke).

Trojan Son is a previous winner of the race when pipping Yorkindness by a head in the 2024 renewal from a basement mark of 55.

Kevin Stott and Phil Kirby were in great form when teaming up to land the last two races on Monday.

They took the Ocean Scotland Outdoor Advertising Handicap with Lady Bouquet before Misemerald gave them a double in the Watch On Racing TV Handicap.

Improving Two Commanders produced the performance of the day when winning the Ina And Ella Macgregor Handicap for Oisin Orr and Ed Bethell.
