IN-form Iain Jardine has his eye on the £25,000 feature race at Musselburgh with Monoceros.

The Carrutherstown trainer, who has saddled ten winners in the last fortnight, is represented by the bottom-weight in the Join Racing TV Now Handicap over 1m 1f.

Monoceros, a 750,000gns yearling in 2024, was formerly owned by Godolphin and trained by Charlie Appleby until February.

His two runs for Jardine have both been at Musselburgh - a good third in the Royal Mile Handicap on Easter Saturday and a moderate fifth over this trip on Derby Day, just three weeks ago.

William Haggas-trained High Degree has been sent off favourite on his last four runs and he is likely to be among the market principals again.

He was just pipped for second place in a Class 2 Sandown contest from the same mark earlier this month and he should be suited by the slight step back up in trip.

Tim Easterby is another trainer in red-hot form and he saddles Perfidia in the opening Melissa, Arabella and Oriana Handicap.

Ridden by Kelso-born claimer Jake Dickson, the gelding is unpenalised for his victory in an apprentice event at Nottingham last Thursday.
